From dark, coarse hair to peach-fuzz, women have been battling hair growth and laser hair removal Salt Lake City almost since existence. Heredity and/or ethnicity play a role in both how much hair you have and the options available to you for removal. Hair growth can be impacted by medical conditions, medications being taken or even hormones. Regardless of the amount or type of hair that people have, many people actively seek the best way to remove it, including laser hair removal Utah.

It is important to understand that while many of the benefits of laser hair removal and laser training courses are cosmetic in nature, there are other benefits as well. People who have always been self-conscious about unwanted hair may well reap emotional and psychological benefits if unwanted hair is removed. Take for example a young man who will not go to the beach because he does not want to take his shirt off and expose the large amount of hair on his back. Or, a young woman that is afraid to kiss anyone because she is afraid that someone will feel the hairs on her chin. For these people and many others, having unwanted hair treated often is a life changing experience.

Two fairly common forms of hair removal require the services of a qualified doctor, nurse, or other trained technician in order to be conducted, laser hair removal Salt Lake City and electrolysis. Laser hair removal Utah removes hair by using pulses of light and heat passing energy down the hair shaft and into the follicle, effectively destroying hair and its root. A benefit to this type of removal is that large areas can generally be treated comfortably at one time. Treatments can take between 5-7 sessions to be effective and costs range from $150 - $500 per treatment for one treatment area. Electrolysis is very similar; however, it is the only hair removal method that is truly "permanent." Electrolysis uses a tiny needle that is inserted into the hair follicle, effectively destroying the cells responsible for hair growth. Major disadvantages to this process are that it can be painful and hair removal can take as many as 25 sessions. This process generally costs between $40 - $90 per session, depending upon treatment area.

Other methods of hair removal can effectively be performed by the individual under doctor's care or with the assistance of an aesthetician. These types of hair removal include: topical prescription creams and waxing. A topical prescription cream, such as Vaniqa, blocks enzymes that would otherwise stimulate hair growth. Because of cost, this method is generally recommended for small, sensitive treatment areas such as the upper lip, chin, and cheeks. Vaniqa costs between $80 and $225 per tube. Waxing involves applying a compound to the hair and skin and then using cloth strips to pull hair out directly from the follicle. Waxing can remove hair anywhere on the body and runs between $10 to $70 per wax, depending on treatment area.

And with laser treatments, there is generally less discoloration and scarring. Because laser treatments do not cause the itching associated with shaving and re-growth, scars and discoloration become almost a non-issue. With prior patches of discoloration, once laser treatments have commenced, reducing the number of hairs generally corrects the problem. Whatever discoloration remains after laser treatments are finished can easily be treated with lightening creams.

Whether you use laser hair removal Salt Lake City or any of the other hair removal methods, it is wise to consider your skin type and the benefits and drawbacks to each removal option before deciding to pursue laser hair removal Utah.
